Fenix PD32 V2.0 Flashlight

In 2016, the Fenix PD32 underwent a major redesign to increase its output and beam distance. To achieve this, the manufacturers integrated a more advanced LED from Cree, a leader in semiconductor products—the XP-L model. This LED made it possible to increase the maximum brightness to 900 lumens. The area the flashlight can illuminate now has a radius of up to 240 meters. To allow each user to select the appropriate lighting settings, the flashlight supports five brightness levels and two additional strobe modes. The brightness levels are as follows: 5 lumens (Eco) — 50 lumens (Low) — 150 lumens (Mid) — 400 lumens (High) — 900 lumens (Turbo). In strobe mode, the brightness of the flashes reaches 900 lumens, and the flashlight can emit SOS signals at a brightness of 50 lumens. The runtime of the PD32 2016 Edition in each brightness mode depends directly on the quality and capacity of the batteries or rechargeable cells. The manufacturers conducted their baseline calculations using a Fenix rechargeable battery with a capacity of 3,400 mAh. Their results ranged from 1 hour and 55 minutes at maximum brightness to 260 hours at minimum power consumption. The light’s brightness in any mode is maintained at a constant level using a special driver. Therefore, a decrease in the charge level will not result in a loss of brightness. Each mode will remain available as long as there is sufficient battery power. A built-in indicator will alert the flashlight owner in advance when the battery is about to run out. The flashlight is also equipped with systems to prevent short circuits and overheating of the optical system. It is protected from physical damage by a durable housing made of an aluminum-based aerospace alloy. Furthermore, aluminum is not prone to rust or other typical signs of corrosion. Water cannot enter the housing either, as all parts are precisely fitted and the joints are sealed with rubber O-rings. The Fenix PD32 2016 Edition is perfect for fishing trips or camping.
