M-Tac Compass for Cards

A classic map compass. The transparent case allows you to read information directly on the map. It features rulers for calculating distances on maps with a scale of 1:25,000 or 1:50,000, as well as a magnifying glass. In this case, it is not only a magnetic compass but also a liquid-filled one. To enable rapid orientation using the compass, the needle is submerged in liquid. A viscous liquid is poured into a hermetically sealed plastic capsule, inside which the needle rotates. Because the viscosity of the liquid is greater than that of gas, the needle settles very quickly—in less than 2 seconds with this compass! The compass itself is mounted on a frame with marked lines, on which the capsule containing the dial and needle rotates. The frame is rectangular and made of lightweight, transparent plastic.
